Panagiotis Gakis studied Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a postgraduate specialization in the pedagogical utilization of computational and network technologies in Secondary Education from the same university. He earned a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Patras, with a dissertation titled: "Design, Development, and Evaluation of the Greek Grammar Checker."
He is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Philology at the University of the Peloponnese, with a research project titled: "Development of Infrastructure for a Conversational Robot (Chatbot) Aimed at Teaching Language Courses through Gamification."
He has co-authored, along with Prof. Christos Panagiotakopoulos, Dr. Christos Tsalidis, and Dr. Theodoros Kokkinos, the academic textbook "Computational Linguistics: From Programming to Teaching Practice."
He has participated in projects focusing on natural language processing, text information retrieval, and the development of electronic dictionaries. He is specialized in Greek Language textbooks used in Junior High School and Senior High School.
