Ο Δρ. Ιωάννης Δ. Μοσχολιός γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1976. Έλαβε δίπλωμα του Ηλεκτρολόγου Μηχανικού & Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών από το Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών (1999), μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα (MSc in Spacecraft Technology and Satellite Communications, 2000) από το University College London και διδακτορικό από την Σχολή Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών & Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών (2005). Κατά την διάρκεια της διδακτορικής του διατριβής συμμετείχε σε πλήθος εθνικών ερευνητικών έργων με έμφαση στην μελέτη της απόδοσης, σε επίπεδο κλήσεων, ενσύρματων και ασυρμάτων δικτύων 3G καθώς και στην εξασφάλιση ποιότητας εξυπηρέτησης σε δίκτυα 802.11, 802.11e. Από το 2005 ως το 2009 εργάστηκε στο τμήμα σχεδιασμού του δικτύου κορμού της εταιρείας VODAFONE Ελλάδος. Από το 2009 ως το 2013 εργάστηκε ως Λέκτορας στο τμήμα Επιστήμης & Τεχνολογίας Τηλεπικοινωνιών του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου. Από το 2013 ως το 2018 εργάστηκε ως Επίκουρος Καθηγητής, στο τμήμα Πληροφορικής & Τηλεπικοινωνιών του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου, με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Ανάλυση Επίδοσης Δικτυακών Πρωτοκόλλων». Από το 2018 ως το 2023 εργάστηκε ως Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο ίδιο τμήμα. Από το 2023 εργάζεται ως Καθηγητής στο τμήμα Πληροφορικής & Τηλεπικοινωνιών του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου. Έχει πάνω από 235 δημοσιεύσεις σε διεθνή περιοδικά και συνέδρια με κριτές. Είναι συ-συγγραφέας του βιβλίου “Efficient Multirate Teletraffic Loss Models Beyond Erlang” (John Wiley & IEEE Press, 2019). Έχει διατελέσει Guest Editor στα περιοδικά: a) ΙΕΤ Communications, b) IET Networks, c) AEU Int. Journal of Electronics and Communications, d) Mobile Information Systems, e) Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing, f) Applied Sciences and g) Image Processing and Communications και Associate Editor στο περιοδικό IEICE Transactions on Communications. Είναι επίσης TPC member στα συνέδρια IEEE ICC και IEEE Globecom. Τέλος είναι IARIA Fellow και μέλος του Τεχνικού Επιμελητηρίου Ελλάδος (ΤΕΕ).

Dr. Ioannis D. Moscholios was born in Athens, Greece, in 1976. He received the Dipl.-Eng. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 1999, the M.Sc. degree in Spacecraft Technology & Satellite Communications from the University College London (UCL), London, UK, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2005. From 2005 to 2009 he was a Research Associate at the Wire Communications Laboratory, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. During the same period he was in the Core Network Planning Group of Vodafone Greece. From 2009 to 2013, he was a Lecturer in the Department of Telecommunications Science and Technology, University of Peloponnese, Greece. From 2013 to 2018, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University of Peloponnese, Greece. From 2018 to 2023, he was an Associate Professor in the same department. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University of Peloponnese, Greece. His research interests include Teletraffic Engineering in Next Generation Networks (4G, 5G) and in Information Centric Networks, Network Management in Telecommunication Networks, Performance Evaluation and Optimization of Telecommunication Networks, Performance Analysis of Network Protocols, Network simulation and Network Security. He has published more than 210 papers in international journals and conferences. He is the co-author of the book “Efficient Multirate Teletraffic Loss Models Beyond Erlang” (John Wiley & IEEE Press, 2019). He has served as a Guest Editor in: a) ΙΕΤ Communications, b) IET Networks, c) AEU Int. Journal of Electronics and Communications, d) Mobile Information Systems, e) Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing, f) Applied Sciences and g) Image Processing and Communications.
